City
of Des Moines 2009 SCRUB
The Public Works Department, in cooperation with the Des Moines Neighbors and the Neighborhood Revitalization Board, has worked to schedule a number of SCRUBs (Spring Cleanup to Remove Urban Blight) in 2009. This year, the Public Works Department will continue the use of Metro Waste Authority (MWA) Transfer Station at 4198 Delaware Avenue and the MWA Compost Park at 1601 Harriett Street on nine Saturdays. New in 2009, to improve the traffic flow at the Transfer Station, all traffic will enter from the North off of Broadway. Click here for directions to the Transfer Station. Click here for a map showing the MWA facilities. Also see the following guidelines and complete SCRUB calendar or call the Public Works Department 24-hour Customer Service Center at (515) 283-4950.
