Temporary Street Closures

 

 


 

8th Street from Walnut Street to Locust Street will be closed to traffic Saturday, February 13, 2010 from approximately 8:00 a.m. through 2:00 p.m. This closure is necessary for crane set up.  Motorists are urged to use caution when driving in this area and obey all construction zone signing.  If there are questions, contact the City of Des Moines Traffic and Transportation Division at 283-4973.

 


 

SW 11th Street from Dart Way to West Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway will be closed beginning Monday, November 23, 2009.  As part of this construction, Tuttle Avenue between SW 9th and SW 11th will also be closed.  The closure will be in effect until next summer, and is part of the city’s SW 11th Street paving project.  Motorists are urged to use caution when driving in this area, and should obey all construction zone signing.  If there are questions, contact Matt Becker, Project Engineer, at 283-4026.

 


 

11th Street from Grand Avenue to High Street will be closed beginning on Thursday, October 8, 2009, for approximately one year, for work in conjunction with the construction of the Wellmark facility.  Motorists are urged to use caution when driving in this area, and should obey all construction zone signing.  If there are questions, contact the City of Des Moines Traffic and Transportation Division at 283-4973.

 


 

SE 3rd Street between Raccoon Street and Allen Street will be closed beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, September 28, 2009 for work in conjunction with the S.E. Connector project.  The street will be permanently closed as part of the construction project.  Motorists are urged to use caution when driving in this area, and should obey all construction zone signing.  If there are questions, contact Eugene Schmitt, Project Engineer, City of Des Moines at 283-4024.
